Local REALTOR® elected Chair of Real Estate Council of Ontario
KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ON (July 22, 2010) George Lavallee, a REALTOR® with Century 21 Home Realty Inc., in Waterloo and long time member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Real Estate Board (KWREB) has been elected to Chair the Real Estate Council of Ontario’s (RECO) board of directors for 2010/2011.
Lavallee is a past president of the KWREB having served in 2005 as president, and has been active in the local real estate scene since 1978.

The RECO regulates the activity of trading in real estate in the public interest and is responsible for administering the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA 2002). RECO was established in 1997 as a delegated administrative authority under the Safety and Consumer Statutes Administration Act, as a result of the mutual desire of the government and the real estate industry to enhance professionalism, increase consumer protection and provide an effective, efficient and responsive regulatory framework. www.reco.on.ca
