Jayna Hefford and Nathan Steffler

On Friday, October 29, 2021, Waterloo Region returned to the ice for the 8th Annual Hockey Helps the Homeless Tournament, and KWAR joined in with our own all-Realtor Team. The tournament, despite reducing to 12 teams to meet COVID protocols, raised a total of $265,000, with $13,575 coming from Team KWAR.

All funds went towards YW K-W, Lutherwood, House of Friendship, Cambridge Shelter Corporation, and oneROOF youth services. Team KWAR was captained by Director, Nathan Steffler and joined by members of the association and 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist Jayna Hefford and NHL Alumni Raffi Torres.

We’d also like to acknowledge our Realtor members who also took part in the tournament on Team TrilliumWest.

KWAR is looking forward to taking part in Hockey Helps the Homeless again in 2022.
