Housing Trends and Forecast will be focus of June 1 Luncheon
KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ON (May 24, 2016) ––
On June 1st, 2016 the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS® will host a luncheon and mini-tradeshow for members of the business and housing community to provide a perspective on housing trends and forecast of housing starts, sales, prices and key economic indicators impacting the national, provincial and local markets.
“Everyone is talking about the housing market these days,” says Charlotte Zawada, President of KWAR. “The market is certainly a little tighter than we’ve seen it in the past decade, and that raises many questions as to what is driving this demand, how long is it going to last and what we should expect in the near and long term in Waterloo Region.”
The luncheon will feature presentations by Erica McLerie, Senior Market Analyst and Ted Tsiakopoulos, Regional Economist of Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation (CMHC). The Analysts from CMHC will shed light on the Waterloo Region (Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge) & Guelph Housing Markets and provide a forcecast for 2016 and 2017. As well there will be an overview of the Major Canadian Housing Markets.
“Both KCW and Guelph are an affordable option for GTA households looking to purchase a home. Strong population and employment growth this year will support housing demand. Ontario`s economy will be one of the best performing regional economies in Canada over the forecast horizon and so it should be no surprise why southern Ontario markets will remain quite active, particularly in 2016,” said Erica Mclerie, senior market analyst for CMHC.
