Charlotte Zawada Elected President of KWAR | Two New Directors Join Board of Directors
KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ON (November 27, 2015) ––Today the Board of Directors of the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS® (KWAR) elected Charlotte Zawada, a salesperson with Re/Max Twin City in Kitchener to serve as president.
Zawada has been a REALTOR® member of the KWAR since 2004, and director on the board since 2012. During her tenure she has presided over the Governance Committee and Co-Chaired the Professional Standards Committee. She has also served on a variety of committees and taskforces including: Education, Finance, MLS® Services, Advertising Standards, Nomination, and Governance.
“It is an honour to be elected as president of the KWAR,” said Zawada. “While there are many wonderful opportunities on the horizon, this coming year will also pose some unique challenges such as the threat for a municipal land transfer tax spreading throughout the region. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board, as well as our other partners and stakeholders in the coming year.”
Joining Zawada as officers of the Association are Mark Wolle of Royal LePage Wolle Realty as Past-President, James Craig of CBRE Limited as 1st Vice President, Tony Schmidt of Howie Schmidt Realty Inc, as 2nd Vice President and Executive Officer Bill Duce.
New to the directors this year are Ginger Whitney of Whitney & Company Realty Limited and David McIntyre of McIntyre Real Estate Services Inc.
Returning as directors are Jane Gardner of Royal LePage Wolle Realty, Eric Klimstra of Royal Lepage Grand Valley Realty, Colleen Koehler of RE/MAX Twin City Realty, Tony Schmidt of Howie Schmidt Realty, Brian Santos of Peak Realty.
